The Opportunity

MariaDB is looking for a partner marketer with a proven track record working with major public cloud providers to drive joint value and revenue. You will develop and nurture key partner marketing relationships to gain attention and focus on MariaDB and SkySQL to support the creation and acceleration of pipeline and revenue.

At the intersection of business development and marketing, this global role is responsible for identifying and driving marketing programs with and through our cloud partners, with a focus on Google Cloud and AWS as well as strategic consulting and reseller partners that offer relevant products and services that enable SkySQL business.

This role requires a strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize and problem-solve, excel in a cross-functional environment and demonstrate effective project management skills with attention to detail and focus on the wider goals and objectives. You will also drive strategy and execution, bootstrapping efforts and initiatives in a hands-on manner with a high level of accountability and bias for action. A good sense of humor and positive, can-do attitude is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships across the cloud partner teams to ensure we are positioned to access, leverage and execute marketing programs.
  • Develop, execute and measure end-to-end integrated co-branded marketing campaigns in collaboration with global cross-functional teams including field marketing, global demand gen/digital campaigns, product marketing/management and alliance/partner teams in sales across both MariaDB and cloud partners. Example assets include co-branded videos, blogs, whitepapers, customer case studies and webinars.
  • Collaborate with cloud partners on the creation of joint value propositions and drive the internal and external go-to-market strategy and execution with global alliances sales teams.
  • Collaborate with cloud partners and MariaDB sales/sales enablement teams on the creation of promotional content aimed at the sales organizations of our cloud partners, including sales enablement materials, win wires, internal webinars, and internal-use only case studies.
  • Drive the full lifecycle of the sponsorship sales process from securing cloud partners, contract fulfillment to on-site execution of all regional MariaDB user conferences, roadshows and virtual conferences.
  • Measure and track pipeline and bookings of SkySQL per cloud and attribution to the programs being driven. Take a data-driven approach to program adjustments and course corrections.
  • Manage marketing development funds from planning through execution and reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years’ experience in partner marketing and/or business development at B2B technology companies.
  • Proven experience navigating and excelling in the cloud partner ecosystems – Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure.
  • Very strong written and verbal communications skills. Must have extensive experience in creating marketing content with a preferred emphasis on partner co-authored content (joint blogs, win wires, proposals, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate the value proposition of the company, create original content, edit existing content, etc.
  • Experience with designing and executing multi-touch marketing and nurture campaigns.
  • Experience producing partner workshops and events and executing conference sponsorship.
  • Background/industry experience with database/data management companies is strongly preferred.
