Overview
Hostname or IP address to use for the connection.

USAGE
mariadb-shell [{--host | -h} {<hostname> | <ip_address>}]
DETAILS
Option | Default Behavior | Argument |
---|---|---|
--host -h | If omitted, MariaDB Shell tries to connect to | FQDN or IP address of the remote host |
EXAMPLES
To connect to a host named host.example.com
:
$ mariadb-shell \
--host host.example.com \
--user user_name \
--password 'user_password'
To use the short option names, the equivalent command is:
$ mariadb-shell \
-h host.example.com \
-u user_name \
-p 'user_password'
Or you can use the IP address of the remote host:
$ mariadb-shell \
-h 192.0.2.1 \
-u user_name \
-p 'user_password'
