Overview
Alerting and Notifications are features of SkySQL Monitoring.
SkySQL Monitoring sends notifications to customer-defined notification channels based on customer-defined alerting rules.

Access Alerts and Notifications
To access the Alerts and Notifications page:
Access SkySQL Monitoring
Click on the "Alerts" link in the left navigation menu
Active and History
By default, the Alerts and Notifications page provides access to two tabs:
Active: Current alerts
History: Past alerts
Rules
Alerting rules define the events that should generate alerts. Rules are defined by specifying a metric, a threshold for the metric's value, and a time interval for the length of the event. Rules are tagged to link rules with notifications.
To access alerting rules from the Alerts and Notifications page:
Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the Settings page
On the Settings page, the Rules tab is selected by default
Add a Rule
To add an alerting rule from the Rules tab of the Settings page:
Click the "Add" button in the upper right corner to open a popup window
In the popup window, define the new alerting rule
When complete, click the "Save" button in the lower right corner
Edit a Rule
To edit an alerting rule from the Rules tab of the Settings page:
In the list of rules, click the rule name to open a popup window
In the popup window, edit the alerting rule
When complete, click the "Save" button in the lower right corner
Delete a Rule
To delete an alerting rule from the Rules tab of the Settings page:
In the list of rules, click the checkbox to the left of the rule name
Click the "Delete" button in the upper right corner
Notifications
Notifications define a relationship between alerting rules and notification channels. Notifications are linked to alerting rules using tags. A single notification can be linked to many alerting rules.
To access notifications from the Alerts and Notifications page:
Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the Settings page
On the Settings page, click the "Notifications" tab
Notification Channels
Notification channels define the recipients of notifications. Currently, only email addresses are supported.
To access notification channels from the Alerts and Notifications page:
Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the Settings page
On the Settings page, click the "Channels" tab
