ALTER CLUSTER UNSOFTFAIL

Overview

Modifies an Xpand deployment, canceling a softfail process.

When using the Xpand Storage Engine topology, the details described here only apply when you connect to the Xpand nodes.

DETAILS

ALTER CLUSTER UNSOFTFAIL node-id[, node-id...]

Softfail operations are begun using an ALTER CLUSTER SOFTFAIL statement. Use this statement to cancel a softfail operation. Once canceled, Xpand restores the node to its prior configuration.

Unsoftfailing Nodes

To unsoftfail nodes:

  1. Connect to an existing Xpand Node with the socket file used by the MariaDB Xpand service:

    $ mariadb --socket /data/clustrix/mysql.sock

  2. Determine the node ID for the nodes you want to unsoftfail:

    SELECT * FROM system.softfailed_nodes;

  3. Use the ALTER CLUSTER UNSOFTFAIL statement to unsoftfail nodes by their node ID's:

    ALTER CLUSTER UNSOFTFAIL 4;

  4. Confirm that the node is no longer marked for softfail:

    SELECT * FROM system.softfailed_nodes;
