Upgrading from 10.2 versions earlier than 10.2.17 is **highly recommended**\
for all [**Galera**](https://github.com/mariadb-corporation/docs-release-notes/blob/test/kb/en/galera/README.md) users due to bug [MDEV-12837](https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-12837) which caused serious stability\
issues with earlier versions. See the bug issue page for more information.\
When upgrading from [MariaDB 10.2.16](/docs/release-notes/community-server/old-releases/10.2/10.2.16.md) or earlier to [MariaDB 10.2.17](/docs/release-notes/community-server/old-releases/10.2/10.2.17.md) or higher,\
running [mysql\_upgrade](/docs/server/clients-and-utilities/legacy-clients-and-utilities/mysql_upgrade.md) is **required** due to changes introduced in [MDEV-14637](https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-14637).\
MongoDB protocol support files for the [CONNECT](/docs/server/server-usage/storage-engines/connect.md) engine are missing in this release.\
If you want to use [CONNECT](/docs/server/server-usage/storage-engines/connect.md) engine with MongoDB, you need to download [Mongo2.jar](https://github.com/MariaDB/server/raw/mariadb-10.2.38/storage/connect/mysql-test/connect/std_data/Mongo2.jar) or [Mongo3.jar](https://github.com/MariaDB/server/raw/mariadb-10.2.38/storage/connect/mysql-test/connect/std_data/Mongo3.jar) and put a path to this file into the `connect_class_path` in the `my.cnf`.
