SELECT

USAGE

DETAILS

  • The SELECT statement can be used to retrieve data from one or more tables.

  • SELECT ... INTO OUTFILE can be used to write the output to a file on the database server. However, MariaDB SkySQL's hardened security measures prevent users from writing to the database server's file system, so SELECT ... INTO OUTFILE is unavailable on MariaDB SkySQL.

    • As an alternative, users can use MariaDB Client to output the results of a query to a local file:

      $ mariadb --host example.skysql.net --port 5001 \
         --user db_user --password \
         --ssl-verify-server-cert \
         --ssl-ca ~/Downloads/skysql_chain.pem \
         --execute="SELECT ..." \
         >> filename.txt
