Setting up a Replica (mariadb-backup)
Initialize a replication slave using a backup. This guide shows how to use mariadb-backup to provision a new replica from a master server.
Back up the Database and Prepare it
$ mariadb-backup --backup \
--target-dir=/var/mariadb/backup/ \
--user=mariadb-backup --password=mypassword$ mariadb-backup --backup \
--slave-info --safe-slave-backup \
--target-dir=/var/mariadb/backup/ \
--user=mariadb-backup --password=mypasswordCopy the Backup to the New Replica
Restore the Backup on the New Replica
Create a Replication User on the Primary
Configure the New Replica
Start Replication on the New Replica
GTIDs
File and Position
Check the Status of the New Replica
