Overview
SkySQL services that have completed the launch process can be stopped and restarted:
While in Stopped state, the service will not accept connections and databases cannot be queried
Distributed Transactions services cannot be scaled while they are in a Stopped state
Stopped SkySQL services continue to accrue charges for storage, since data is preserved
Instance and egress charges will stop until the service is started again
Analytics services may be stopped by contacting support.

Stopping a Service
Warning
While stopped, the service will not accept connections and databases cannot be queried
Analytics services may be stopped by contacting support.
A service can be stopped when it is in a Healthy state.
To stop a service:
Log in to MariaDB SkySQL. You will be on the "Your services" page.
Identify the service you want to stop.
Click on the "Service settings" gear icon (at right) for that service.
Click on the "Stop Service" menu item.
Click the "Yes, Stop this service" button.
The service will be stopped. You will only be charged for storage on a stopped service.
Start a Service
A service can be started when it is in a Stopped state.
To start a service:
Log in to MariaDB SkySQL. You will be on the "Your services" page.
Identify the service you want to start.
Click on the "Service settings" gear icon (at right) for that service.
Click on the "Start Service" menu item.
Click the "Yes, Start this service" button.
The service will be started. Service start may take up to 15 minutes. The normal billing cycle for the service will resume.
