mysql_secure_installation

Note that many of the reasons for the existence of this script no longer apply. In particular, from , Unix socket authentication is applied by default, and there is usually no need to create a root password. See Authentication from MariaDB 10.4.

From , the client is called mariadb-secure-installation. It can still be accessed under its original mysql_secure_installation name via a symlink in Linux, or an alternate binary in Windows.
