MaxScale's Hint Router (hintrouter) looks at the hints embedded in a packet buffer and attempts to route the packet according to the hint.

What Does the Hint Router Support?

The Hint Router (hintrouter) supports:

When to Use the Hint Router?

The Hint Router (hintrouter) allows you to:

Embed hints in queries to determine which server should receive a query
Define default actions for queries without hints
