Overview
Returns the date component of the given DATETIME expression.
USAGE
DATE(timestamp)

DETAILS
DATE() is a datetime function that returns the date portion of the argument.
A NULL is returned if the argument is NULL.
EXAMPLES
SELECT DATE('2001-12-31 01:02:03');

+-----------------------------+
| 2001-12-31 |
