Overview

Returns a string that is enclosed in single quotes with properly escaped special characters.

DETAILS

QUOTE() is a string function that returns a string enclosed with single quotation marks and properly escaped special characters.

The return value uses backslash escapes to handle both single quotes and backslash characters that may exist in the source string.

For the reverse operation, see UNQUOTE().

A NULL is returned if the argument is NULL.
