Enterprise reliability with open source innovation.
MariaDB TX, proven in production and driven by the community, is a complete database solution for any and every enterprise — a modern database for modern applications.
What's new in MariaDB TX 3.0
Oracle compatibility enables enterprises to migrate from Oracle Database to MariaDB TX, and database administrators and developers to use Oracle Database knowledge and skills (e.g., PL/SQL) with MariaDB TX.
MariaDB TX 3.0 enables developers and database administrators to query data as it was at a previous point in time via built-in system-versioned tables and standard SQL temporal features (e.g., AS OF).
The general availability of the MyRocks and Spider storage engines allows enterprises to support a variety of transactional workloads, often with different characteristics, using a single general-purpose database.
That’s not all!
MariaDB TX 3.0 protects sensitive and/or personally identifiable information (SPI/PII) with data obfuscation for anonymization and full/partial data masking for pseudoanonymization. In addition, with instant add column, it is now possible to add columns without triggering a full table rebuild – enabling schemas to evolve in real time, and without the side effects of traditional schema changes.
MariaDB TX components
A modern general-purpose database engineered to support a variety of workloads with multiple purpose-built storage engines
Fully active/active and multi-master clustering with synchronous replication and globally-ordered transactions
An advanced database proxy for intelligent routing, automatic failover, data protection and change-data-capture (CDC)
Lightweight clients for Java (JDBC), ODBC (Windows and Linux) and C (Windows, Linux and Linux on ARM)
Full-featured management and monitoring interfaces; tools for backup and restore, rollback and replication
Access to experts for remote database administration (Remote DBA), database architecture and database migration
MariaDB TX provides high availability for mission-critical applications using replication (master/slave or multi-master; synchronous, semi-synchronous or asynchronous) and automatic failover.
MariaDB TX includes multiple disaster recovery tools to perform everything from full physical backups and incremental logical backups to point-in-time recovery with log-based rollback.
MariaDB TX secures data at every layer – client, network, server and storage – via authentication, roles, encryption, auditing and PII/SPI data protection with data obfuscation and data masking.
MariaDB TX supports on-demand scaling with a distributed storage engine (i.e., distributed partitions/shards) for read, write and storage scaling and unlimited replication for read scaling.
MariaDB TX meets high performance requirements using a multi-threaded architecture with multiple subquery optimizations, advanced join algorithms, index condition pushdown and table statistics.
MariaDB follows an open and transparent development process, ensuring everyone has access to everything from tests cases and security bugs to source code and roadmaps.
MariaDB TX implements an extensible architecture with public APIs, enabling the community, customers and partners to create plugins for extending storage, security, replication and more.
MariaDB has one of the largest communities in the world, welcoming contributions from and collaborating with companies like Alibaba, Facebook and Google to incorporate new features and improvements.
MariaDB TX streams inserts, updates and deletes in real time via a change-data-capture protocol, sending them as AVRO objects or JSON documents to clients – and includes an Apache Kafka producer.
MariaDB TX supports flexible data models with a comprehensive set of SQL functions for JSON documents, dynamic columns and the ability to add columns on demand – and without a table rebuild.
