Does MySQL Enterprise Backup work with MariaDB?
We primarily support MySQL from Oracle. A business group needs an application that has a MariaDB database in the backend. Assuming the version of MariaDB to be implemented is 10.1.21, can MySQL Enterprise Backup be used? If so, can you tell me which version to use? MEB 3.X is for MySQL 5.6 and MEB 4.X is for MySQL 5.7.

MariaDB 10.1 implements its encryption differently to MySQL, and there are other differences - see MariaDB versus MySQL: Compatibility, and so it is unlikely MySQL Enterprise Backup can safely be used in all situations.
