ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

Hello,

We have a MariaDB server that runs for a while and then stops with the error message below. It seems to come online for a whbile and then go offline. We have searched and searched and have not been able to resolve this issue. We though it was maybe related to apparmor. It wasn't as it is back.

FYI... This is a Master server in a Master/Slave Galera cluster running Mariadb 10.3

Can anybody give us any clue as to where to look for a possible solution to this?
