There can be two reasons of access denied to mariadb server:- 1) firewall or ip tables is enabled but mysql service is not added in it 2) Correct grant is not set for user which you have created
Please provide o/p of below commands:- 1) o/p of services added in firewall or ip tables 2) o/p of below command show grants for <user_name>; 3) error while firing below command mysql -u <user_name> -h "<mariadb_server_IP>" -p
