Answer

This is very unlikely.

10.1 is beta, we don't add new features into it anymore.

And even if we would like to merge this feature from MySQL-5.7, we couldn't — MySQL uses longer release cycles, 5.7 is still being heavily modified. We cannot merge anything from 5.7 until that code will stabilize. So first 5.7 needs to become more stable, then we can merge features from it into whatever MariaDB version will be in active development at that time (hopefully into 10.2).
