Audit Log Plugin--Filtering & Old Values

Is it possible to use the built-in audit plugin to log only Create, Update/Alter, & Delete functions? I've configured the built-in plugin but even the server_audit=query_ddl logs far more information than I need.
Also, is it possible to log the old value that was changed using the built-in plugin?
