Cannot access information schema tables via ODBC

I have a Microsoft Access connection to MariaDB 10.5.22. I am using MySQL ODBC 8.0 Unicode driver. I can connect to the database and open all the tables. I can connect to information_schema database successfully but no tables show. MySQL workbench allows me to view the tables in information_schema DB after selecting the option Show MetaData and Internal Schemas. I was hopeful that unchecking Disable Schema Support in ODBC driver optionsd might solve the problem. But no joy. Is it possible to view the tables in Information_Schema and, if so, how? Thanks.
