Cross lateral Join

Good morning, I am a developer who is recently approaching Mariadb, I come from a DB2 background, I wanted to ask if you are thinking of developing CROSS lateral Join like db2 does for example, it really simplifies writing SQL when you need to have operations ( such as sums, multiplication, etc.) and use their result on a variable where you can then do group by or even simple operations in the where clause. In the db2 world this functionality was a revolution. Thank you I wish you a happy new year.
