# DEC, NUMERIC, FIXED

## Syntax

```bnf
DEC[(M[,D])] [SIGNED | UNSIGNED | ZEROFILL]

NUMERIC[(M[,D])] [SIGNED | UNSIGNED | ZEROFILL]

FIXED[(M[,D])] [SIGNED | UNSIGNED | ZEROFILL]
```

## Description

These types are synonyms for [DECIMAL](/docs/server/reference/data-types/numeric-data-types/decimal.md). The `FIXED` synonym is available for compatibility with other database systems.
