mysqldump is a command line client, so backups are created wherever you specify, and with whatever name you specify. If you can't find them at a later stage, take a look at the (Linux)
locateorfindcommands for details on finding files in the filesystem.Thanks for your reply, Ian. You are correct, locate or find would be helpful to find the backup files.
