STRAIGHT_JOIN behaves as an INNER JOIN

STRAIGHT_JOIN behaves as an INNER JOIN, afaict. (The MySQL and Maria manuals seem not to mention this.)

So adding it to a query, as described in this article, might change the meaning of the query and not just the plan.

Iow, take care! Using STRAIGHT_JOIN might change your query from an implicit LEFT JOIN to an implicit INNER JOIN.
