Comments - InnoDB Errors - Table Cache Mutex Contention Detected, Wait Threshold Exceeded

4 months ago Daniel Black

"Detected table cache mutex contention" isn't an error or warning, its a note that MariaDB is sizing up its table cache because they are frequently happing. Nothing to worry about on this one.

THe ERROR FATAL ... obviously is a problem. There have been almost 3 years of bug fixes since 10.6.4 and some would fix this kind of problem. Please update to a newer version in the 10.6 series.

Just trying to make sure I understand what happened...

"Detected table cache mutex contention at instance <INSTANCE_NUM>: <PERCENTAGE>% waits. Additional table cache instance activated. Number of instances after activation: <CURRENT_NUM_ACTIVATIONS>."

is not something to be concerned about in long-term?
