I had to add --defaults-file=/opt/mariadb-data/my.cnf to the line parse_server_arguments `$print_defaults --defaults-file=/opt/mariadb-data/my.cnf $extra_args mysqld server mysql_server mysql.server`
Without it it was using wrong pid file
I know why, I have different locations of datadir and dir with my.cnf. If you have data and my.cnf in one directory, everything is fine
