There is no trace of a macOS PKG at http://mariadb.com/downloads Not for the current version, nor for the version mentioned here (10.2.x).

I find Homebrew works wonderfully.

First timers:

  1. brew install mariadb

Repeat offenders:

  1. brew upgrade mariadb

… and you're done!

As of last night, Homebrew installs MariaDB 10.4.6.
