Information Schema COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY Table - Source

The [[information_schema|Information Schema]] ##COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY## table shows which  [[data-types-character-sets-and-collations|character sets]] are associated with which collations.

##COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY## is essentially a subset of the ##[[information-schema-collations-table|COLLATIONS]]## table.

SELECT COLLATION_NAME,CHARACTER_SET_NAME FROM information_schema.COLLATIONS;

and

SELECT * FROM information_schema.COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY;

will return identical results.
