## Includes [MariaDB 5.1.53](/docs/release-notes/community-server/old-releases/5.1/5.1.53.md)

[MariaDB 5.2.4](/docs/release-notes/community-server/old-releases/5.2/5.2.4.md) has all changes from [MariaDB 5.1.53](/docs/release-notes/community-server/old-releases/5.1/5.1.53.md), including MySQL 5.1.53.

In most respects [MariaDB](https://mariadb.com/docs/server/) will work exactly as MySQL: all commands, interfaces, libraries and APIs that exist in MySQL also exist in MariaDB.

## Includes [XtraDB](/docs/server/server-usage/storage-engines/innodb/mariadb-enterprise-server-innodb-operations/innodb-unmaintained/about-xtradb.md) 5.1.52-11.6

We have included XtraDB from Percona-server-5.1.52-11.6 in this version of\
MariaDB.

## New Packages

For this version of MariaDB we have started building Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick" and Debian 6 "Squeeze" packages.

## Bug Fixes

Like [previous releases](/docs/release-notes/community-server.md), [MariaDB 5.2.4](/docs/release-notes/community-server/old-releases/5.2/5.2.4.md) includes several bug fixes and other improvements.
