Greetings,
MariaDB Columnstore aka AX also provides you with up-to-date MariaDB Server. It is 10.3.9 ATM. Please note that Columnstore is an MPP engine so it works the best when scaled on a number of hosts and on a huge datasets. However it is better then Server executes OLAP workload on a singular host.
Thank you for answer :)! I am starting to understand more things but still I feel not sure in some basics.
Now I have installed AX on my host. Please let me know if I understand this correctly. Is running SQL on tables with different storage engines (in my case Columnstore and InnoDB) essential to simply make mentioned comparision? I read that server in ColumnStore "[...] converts MariaDB Server query plans into ColumnStore query plan format". How can I know when this task (and others related only with columnstore) is performed? Only when querying tables with Columnstore storage engine set? Does in every other situation server behave "normally"?
I hope I expressed myself clearly. Thank you in advance for your time!
