Comments - MariaDB version number after upgrade from 5.5. to 10.0

Thank you for your reply. Yes we are trying to get back within support by going up through the MariaDB versions.

The mysql binary is supplied through the default Mariadb 5.5 package.

When we remove MariaDB 5.5, the MySQL binary get removed from the server though the MariaDB 10.0 still exist on the server.

But we are unable to login to the DB without the MySQL client.

How can we update the MySQL client to the equivalent version of MariaDB.

Please note we have installed MariaDB from the Redhat software collections repository.

There should be a separate mariadb-client package in the software collections from 10.0.

You don't need to upgrade via every major version.
