Please open a bug report on the MariaDB Jira under the MaxScale project. When you do open it, if you can, include log output with log_info enabled. The log_info level will contain a detailed trace of what's happening.

Markus, I was in doubt it was PEBCAK or an bug, but sure will do :-)
I have to find a good reproduction, doing a load test with prepared statements and see what happens?
If I can reproduce it, I will check the versions between also, so I can tell in what version this behaviour started.
I'm fairly certain that it's a bug in MaxScale 23.08 (MXS-4969).
