# MBRIntersects

## Syntax

```bnf
MBRIntersects(g1,g2)
```

## Description

Returns 1 or 0 to indicate whether the [Minimum Bounding Rectangles](/docs/server/reference/sql-statements/geometry-constructors/mbr-minimum-bounding-rectangle/mbr-definition.md) of the two geometries g1 and g2 intersect.

## Examples

```sql
SET @g1 = GeomFromText('Polygon((0 0,0 3,3 3,3 0,0 0))');
SET @g2 = GeomFromText('Polygon((3 3,3 6,6 6,6 3,3 3))');
SELECT mbrintersects(@g1,@g2);
+------------------------+
| mbrintersects(@g1,@g2) |
+------------------------+
|                      1 |
+------------------------+
