Migration path from 10.7.x

Currently using the latest version of 10.7 which will not be supported past February of 2023. The chart of releases shows that 10.6 has long term support, through 2026, but that seems to be a step back. Should I consider going back to the 10.6 stream? If so is that even possible after using 10.7 since it was released?

Answer

Downgrading is not usually tested, and not recommended. See Downgrading between Major Versions of MariaDB.

MariaDB 10.11 is probably going to be an LTS, but that is unlikely to be generally available by February, so your best bet is either to stick with 10.7 beyond EOL, or upgrade to an intermediate version.
