Let me add more info, before I did the sql backup, (from an ssh into synology not from php) I did a show tables; and these databases did not show up. They do now though. I don't know if they are even needed or not. I know digikam ignores them.
They are used by phpMyAdmin - see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47485738/how-do-i-remove-pma-tables-from-mysql-without-affecting-other-tables
So I guess the only thing is that by putting the db out via mysqldump and bringing back in, I have unhidden the tables. I will live with that, thanks.
