PIVOT AND UNPIVOT
HELP WITH SYNTAX FOR PIVOT AND UNPIVOT OPERATORS.

To combine the two comments into one answer:
- The CONNECT storage engine has a pivot table type. See CONNECT PIVOT Table Type.
- There's a workaround for the main server described at Pivoting in MariaDB.
- There's a feature request for pivot at MDEV-10144.
