Replication feasibility check

Hello, We have our Old Maria DB server working with version 10.0.28. Now we have a new server to be created, and the suggested version is 10.3.17. We need to enable replication for the switch over and fallback.

Will Replication : Master (10.0.28) > Slave (10.3.17) work / feasible ?

Will replication: Master(10.0.28) > Master (10.3.17) work / feasible ?

The slave should usually be the higher version, so 10.0->10.3 should work. The reverse will most likely give problems. See https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/mariadb-vs-mysql-compatibility/#replication-compatibility and as well as the upgrading articles at https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/upgrading/ for incompatibilities with the newer versions.
