Our security organization requires installation of software such as DBMS to be in filesystems that are separate from the O/S filesystems. Having RPMs that install into directories based on /usr make it difficult to meet this requirement. Thus far, we have been working with the MariaDB CE. Moving to the Enterprise Edition will be more difficult without the flexibility to install where desired.
