Comments - column name work as a case insenstive

The question does not seem to be about column names but the data that is being inserted into the column. Can you post the output of SHOW CREATE TABLE x;? Can you define the indexed column with a case-sensitive collation instead of a case-insensitive (ci) one? 'a'='A' should hold in case-insensitive collations but not case-sensitive ones.
