Differences between TokuDB in MariaDB from tokudb.com and mariadb.org

Because we, the MariaDB developers, didn't want to add a lot of new features or big code changes in a stable release, we did not add all TokuDB features at once into MariaDB.

Here we list all the known differences between TokuDB from tokudb.com and the default MariaDB version that you can find at mariadb.org:

Features not in MariaDB 5.5

Features missing in latest MariaDB 10.0

  • No INSERT NOAR or UPDATE NOAR commands.
    • Main reason for not including this feature is that we don't like the syntax. We will work with TokuDB to find a better way to do this.
  • No gdb stack trace on sigsegv
