I've run into the same problem. I tried completely uninstalling MariaDB 5.5 server RPM and still the problem remains. Any ideas?
The issue with upgrade 5.5=>10.0 is known, see the comment above. Uninstall/install, however, should always work and was reported to be an efficient workaround for this particular problem as well.
Please provide more details on what exactly did not work after uninstalling. In particular, please paste the output of
when I am trying to update MariaDB to 10.0,
I am getting errors.
For the first command
yum -y update mariadb-server mariadb
the response you are getting is natural, it is not an error -- you already have MariaDB 10.0.10 as yourrpm -qa
shows, there is nothihng to upgrade to.For the second command,
yum install mariadb-bench
, the packagemariadb-bench
is provided by Fedora, and it seems it requires the exact same version of MariaDB client (5.5.36 in this case), which does not get installed because you have a newer one.
