Where are the installation instructions?

Since, for reasons that are anything but obvious, the mariadb connector to odbc is not included in the Debian distribution, shouldn't there be at least a link to instructions on the installation of the mariadb connector?
I downloaded https://downloads.mariadb.com/Connectors/odbc/connector-odbc-2.0.15/mariadb-connector-odbc-2.0.15-ga-debian-x86_64.tar.gz and, when I found no installation instructions therein, then did a bunch of google searches on site:mariadb.com and came up dry.
