An answer wouldn't really be meaningful, as whether MariaDB can run successfully depends on your data and what you're doing with them. It's possible to install MariaDB on a very low-end machine, and tweak the settings to use the absolute minimum RAM. That might be fine in a very small subset of use cases, but isn't useful information to most.
