If you're replicating *from* a Galera cluster, be sure to set "binlog_format=ROW" on the replication master; "MIXED" doesn't seem to do the trick. We've had constant issues with the replication running out of sync before realizing this (MariaDB 10.4.x).
This appears to be a crucial omission from this documentation and should probably be added.
