How to connect visual studio 2019 in c# to MariaDB in Synology DS1513+

I will like to know how to connect the Maria-db using visual studio 2019 specifically in a windows Forms written in C#. We have been taught in school to use a table adapter. I have been able to connect to my professors DB but not the one in my home server. I would like to keep working and experiment even after the class is over. I just can't figure out the proper steps to do it. I have already asked my professor but he has never used Maria-db. If anybody can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
