Comments - No Rocky-Linux support yet??

Hi, I've created MDEV-25805 to add support into the maradb_repo_setup script.

Supporting yet another Linux is always a big step that consumes a lot of packaging/CI time. At the moment we've left RHEL compatible Linuxs to be work with just the RHEL packages. This includes even currently reasonably popular Linuxs like Oracle Linux and CloudLinux.

Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux and the like going to have to maintain enough compatibility to make this true however if its users see a minor tweak in packaging required to make this happen we welcome a bug report.

i am assuming that Rocky-Linux will be a drop-in replacement for Centos, and the changes should be minimal.

the update to version: 10.5.10 went flawlessly on Rocky-Linux once i made the changes i mentioned.

Good to know. My assumption was that it will be a drop-in replacement, but nice to have real-world testing proving that it actually is.

maybe not "real-world testing" since RL is still very experimental, but so far i have yet to find any differences.

also, my Centos-8 production server is running 10.3 while the new RL server is running 10.5, but still, so far from what i can tell, it's been perfect.
