What does the migration path from v5.3 to 10.x or 11.x look like?
I've inherited a legacy system that is running on v5.3 and want to get to a modern version. Any pros/cons/advice you may have?

The path upgrading-between-major-mariadb-versions pretty much covers it.
A preliminary migration on a copied set of the datadir with some application tests would be prudent as the downgrade path isn't supported.
