Windows OS MariaDB 10.2 to 10.11.5

I will be moving the database files from a Windows MariaDB 10.2 server to another Windows Server running 10.11.5. On the new server after I copy the files over and start the service, I need to run the MariaDB-Upgrade command. My question is will this change the structure of tables at all? I am never upgraded MariaDB before and worried it may break some of our code or other compatibility issues.

Yes, upgrade will change the structure of the system tables, but not of the user tables. Keep a backup of the original data if anything in the upgrade goes wrong.
