MariaDB is pleased to announce that we have achieved ISO 27001 certification of our Information Security Management System (ISMS) for MariaDB SkySQL.

In this time where digital threats are widespread, MariaDB has designed its MariaDB SkySQL cloud database (DBaaS) with the goal to deliver secure and reliable service. Through third-party accreditation, we demonstrate our commitment to protecting customer data.

ISO 27001 is widely recognized in driving adoption of best practices for:

  • Access Control
  • Cryptography
  • Operations Security
  • Secure Development
  • Incident Response
  • Business Continuity
  • Risk Management

MariaDB’s ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificate was issued by Coalfire ISO, an ISO/IEC 27001 Certification Body accredited by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB). The certificate covers the MariaDB SkySQL cloud database, MariaDB ID identity platform, and SkyDBA service.

This certification process was a collaborative effort across MariaDB — from Engineering to IT, Finance and Legal — involving risk management, controls, ongoing measurement and third-party audit. Our commitment to protection of customer data extends beyond initial certification. You can learn more about MariaDB’s compliance programs in the MariaDB Trust Center.
