MariaDB has been selected as Database of the Year in the Members’ Choice awards at LinuxQuestions.org for the third year running. Our thanks goes out to all of the community members who voted for MariaDB and who continue to contribute to the project to make MariaDB the best open source relational database.
The LinuxQuestions.org forum is the largest Linux user forum online, hosting from 100,000 to a million visitors every month. In a resounding show of support, fans gave MariaDB 45% of the vote, more than twice the votes received by the next nearest competitor. MariaDB had also won the award in 2013 and the 2014.
In 2015, MariaDB 10.1 launched a new set of capabilities critical to the real-life needs of the user community. These include Galera Cluster, a true multi-master solution, table, tablespace and log encryption, password validation and role-based access control improvements, page compression, replication enhancements, and numerous optimizations. MariaDB Enterprise includes MariaDB 10.1, and adds management and monitoring plugins, 24×7 expert comprehensive support, including break/fix, updates, consultative services and rapid response.
