MariaDB Enterprise Manager

DATASHEET

01
Introduction

As your databases become more critical to your business, you need a powerful and effective way to manage them. MariaDB Enterprise Manager is the official, native tool designed to manage all your MariaDB environments from a single location.

MariaDB Enterprise Manager provides a fully integrated solution for monitoring, management and performance analysis. It delivers a management experience as robust and reliable as the database itself.

Because the MariaDB developers created it, you get deep integration and a smooth workflow that generic tools can’t provide. Enterprise Manager is designed to give you more control, stronger security and improved performance.

Manager Capabilities

MariaDB Enterprise Manager processes data from standalone MariaDB Servers, MariaDB Servers implementing a primary/replica topology with or without MaxScale and MariaDB Servers running MariaDB Enterprise Cluster with or without MaxScale. Enterprise Manager enables you to:

  • Leverage the power of a built-in Grafana instance, complete with pre-packaged dashboards and production-ready alerts. The platform provides the flexibility to create custom dashboards, define unique alert rules, and route notifications to various destinations.
  • Seamlessly export metrics and integrate with your existing observability stack since Enterprise Manager uses OpenTelemetry for metrics collection. The integrated Prometheus time-series database exposes a query API.
  • Gain a topology-based, centralized view of your entire database fleet. Enterprise Manager discovers and visualizes your replication and clustering setups, allowing you to drill down into a specific MaxScale UI through a seamless single sign-on (SSO) experience.
  • Run and debug queries using the Query Editor, and manage and model schemas across multiple database connections via a visual ERD Designer.
  • Secure your management layer with robust security features. Authenticate users with your corporate identity provider (OIDC), enforce granular permissions with role-based access control (RBAC), and maintain compliance with a comprehensive audit log for all administrative actions.

Installation and Use

MariaDB Enterprise Manager is installed on a server separate from your MariaDB environment(s). The diagram below shows the various connection options for providing data to MariaDB Enterprise Manager, along with the capabilities of Enterprise Manager.
